Can you achieve what you are describing with the Shell command?

If you are looking for the 'reverse' internal shape, you could fill it in with a Sculpt (Region fill) as a new body?

Doe that make sense?

Hi guys. When I thicken a sculpted model, I get a one body but I want to see the internal shape better. It would be easier to make the inner shape as a separate body and then just cut it out later in the timeline. I managed to do it on another part but I can not replica it again. Do you have any ideas how to do it. It would be a big help if I just could hide the outer shape.

There are a number of different approaches you might use, can you post a screen shot or something to show the type of shape your talking about. The approach used would depend on the model.

Here you go.

I would like to separate these two shapes so I could see the internal shape better when I modify the wall thickness. Modeling a cube inside a cube is not an option because it's not very sophisticated method. Thicken is a good start but then I would like to separate the internal shape and then edit it. One cool feature would be that the outer layer could be hidden.

Make a cube enclosing the interior of your model.

Use Extrude|Cut operation with the new cube as the target body and with Keep Tools and New Component checked.

Hide or remove any extra bodies in the new component.

After editing the main body of the new component, you can use it to modify the original.

It sounds like what you want is analogous to the "separate shells" command in a mesh modeler. Sadly, this isn't directly possible for tsplines. Would make a good addition to the idea station. Here is a screen cast of a possible work around that achieves the same result, albeit in a round about way-

I used a thicken command and it's essential to keep the internal shape's
similar to outside shape. I'm working with a shell structure which ia more
complex than a cube so modeling the internal shape individualy is not
possible.

This could be solved with a feature of hide/show the external shape. At the
moment I reduce the opacity so that the both sides are visible but as the
body is closed it is very slow to modify the internal shape because I need
to press and hold the mouse to be able to select the internal shape.

I've been using section analysis as well but it would be easier if I could
separate the internal body or just hide the outside shape when modeling.

oops, I didn't actually show the whole point of the screen cast above. In the screen cast, I shelled the initial t-spline and separated the inner and outer into 2 different bodies, so they can be turned on and off separately.

Since fusion now thinks of them as 2 separate bodies, you have to use combine at the end to subtract the inner body from the outer body.
