Are you closing the Fusion design after making edits in Fusion 360?

There was a brief outage earlier today, but it didn't last long. Could you post screenshots or record any error messages you're seeing (if they are still happening)? If you right click on the icon in the system tray or on mac it looks like the below image:

You can collect the diagnostic log files. This may help me dig into the issue.

Thanks,

Successfully imported a Fusion assembly into Inventor 2018.2as a Reference Model, made mods to assembly parts in Fusion, "Check for Update" function found the changes in the Fusion file & applied them to the Inventor Reference Model.

However...

Inserted another component into the Fusion model & saved. Inventor reports "No Updates Available".

Please see attached images.

Is there a fix? Am I missing a step or two? Is this the way the link is designed? Thanks in advance for any help...

It sounds like you're using a Fusion 360 design in Autodesk Inventor via the AnyCAD technology. Are you using the Autodesk Desktop Connector to do this or are you just referencing a file in a directory on the computer?

Is the currently active project in Fusion 360 configured to look at the directory that the Fusion design is stored in? It might help to record an Autodesk Screencast of the behavior you're seeing.

Thanks,

Nathan,

Thanks for the reply. I was attempting to use the Anycad technology using the desktop connector.

Even more issues today. Got a new "Update" from Autodesk this AM for the desktop connector. Now, it won't even initialize - keeps telling me it can't find something that was working perfectly last week before Autodesk "fixed" something that wasn't broke.

All this while I'm trying to put together a webinar on Fusion 360-Inventor inter-operability. I've now lost a full day because the service reports as down in the dashboard. Typical.

Unfortunately, all this is happening after the F-360 outage. The re-install
& all was after the outage. I have F350 & Inventor 2018.2 on my home system
also. I downloaded Autodesk Desktop Connector tonight & installed on my home
system & it seems to work properly, except for the first time I did an
Inventor update. The image of the Fusion disappeared from the Inventor
screen. The Inventor browser showed the model as visible, but it was not.
Closed the parent assembly file & attempted import from Fusion again (same
Fusion assembly) and this time everything updated properly every time I made
a change.

I am following exactly the same steps at home as at work, which is why I am
so frustrated.

I am running Window 10 x64 v1709 at home & I think I'm still on v1703 at
work. This may be the only difference between the systems.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas. BTW - where are the
diagnostic files you mentioned? I will be glad to send them.

Hi Marshall,

Is the "No Update Available" issue reproducible for every Fusion file? Or it is specific to the model you are using?

For your current Inventor file, is the "Check for Updates" button still available? If yes, I suppose the reference link is good, could you try modifying your Fusion file to a new version again, then back to Inventor and Check for Updates. Please make sure the Fusion file has been fully saved before hit the Check for Updates button.

My Win10 version is 1703 as well. it works good on my machine. And I suggest to restart your machine after Desktop Connector is upgraded.
