Newbie trying to create circular patern of/with body

Hey Thrill Seekers, Newbie here who has sadly not grasped the vision of the app. So baby steps. I'm trying to create this circular pattern of 3 up bullet plugs. I have the basic sketch, which I started at the zero point on the XY Plane like this.

When I extrude the sketch into the body shape I need, it of course extends along the Z Axis, some in +z and some in -z.

My glitch is that I need to see figure out how big a circle I can place 8 of these inside where there will be room to install wires, add attachment points and all that. I think I see that I can select the entire collection of bodies, but the next step is to identify the axis for the rotation. How do I create an axis in the same plane the body has been extruded into on which I can identify a center point for that circle?

Thank you for your posting!

I understand that you are looking for how to create an axis along with new cylinder body.

This is the help menu about "Create Axes"

But if you want to create a circle pattern with a cylinder body, we don't need to create the axis because you can click the cylinder body as Axis.

Not sure. I managed to get to this point.

I THINK what I did was create an extruded circle, aligned the red component with the outside of the circle (I couldn't figure out how to do a coincident alignment, but the one that worked ended up being what I wanted). Then I created a circle pattern using the outside of the extruded circle as the axis.

I'm marginally confident that I could repeat this. I've been trying to reproduce my happy accident with no joy thus far.

Whenever I want to try to move one or all of the red items I have to select zillions of items. Is there a way to conenose, coalesce or group items into one thing that's easier to select? I feel like every time I want to pick up a book I have to do so page by page by page by page by......

Regarding the second question,
May I know how you want to move? I think it depends on what you want to control.

Have you used the selection sets? Here is how to use it. how to use it
If you create a selection set with one click, you can select bodies/components by clicking once.

Right now I'm not sure the drawing even exists as it was. I keep getting to a point where I seem to have ruined something and back up to the beginning to start over. And...I THOUGHT I'd discovered the selection set, but suppose I just assumed I'd know what it does. So...give me some time this AM to see if the instructional links will show me the way. My goal today is to get this single part drawn. Baby steps....

Ahreum...I think I might actually be making some progress. I think I have the base item set and am actually going to try to machine it today. That's another whole learning curve as I barely know how to turn the CNC on...

I just shared the file with you. I think my only issue right now is that in creating the circular pattern I ended up with 64 components that I could not group into a single component. I think the issue is that my timeline marker was not at the end of the timeline. I right clicked the desktop and (did something) to tell F360 to ignore anything after this point. Then I was able to drag and drop all that junk into one component. Deal.

But, that method then destroys anything that was done after that point correct? So it looks like if you don't stay organized along the way there is no non-destructive way to organize later. Am I reading that right?

I'm also attaching the notes to self I made along the way.

I have read the document, and you seem to be struggling with workflows and that then adds to workflows that can be better.

I won't be able to help with he CAM stuff for your CNC machine,

for example you have 8 components to make the bullet template, May not need any, sounds like you will have one maybe two components

the description of the Extrude ring, there is a better way.

You mentioned attaching he file, but it isn't here yet,

Do you mind exporting the file and attaching it here? Will be better to demonstrate with your sizes and dimensions.

Struggling with workflows? Understatement of the year (but the year is young....) Everyone struggles with workflows until they learn to work the way the app wants them to 😉

I've attached the exported file. Would LOVE to find a quicker way to work. If it seems irrationally complex, that's probably because it's irrationally complex.

Not looked at your file, yet,

One component that can be cut twice,

three sketches, (could be one sketch, but confuses new people)

one body,

two patterns, etc.

step through my timeline, check and change any incorrect dimensions,

Don't like to see a man struggle,

When I saw the finished article, that you need to cut a pair of these, that's where you start, a large lump of material, then start cutting bits away,

Hope it helps, filter the muddy water for you...

Have had a look at the file, you need a Medal for the Patience displayed.

I was wondering how you got to 8 components in the early part of the project, but I see now, the two small joiners.

Your document read as a lot of internet theory, but I agree we have to work in the bounds of the particular app,

When all said and done, you have one finished part, - then you need one component.

We have the ideas, make Fusion do the hard work....

I am not sure how you would cut the revolving shoulder on a mill, or router, but you have that, if your happy with a small fillet, for the ball nose cutter, it is just that, a fillet, added to the first recess, before it is patterned,
