Rounded transition/loft between two bodies

Hi everyone,

I'm at a loss on how to create this rounded transition between a rectangle and a cone. I have attached an image of how I want it to look like but can't manage to replicate it. So far, I've tried lofts and fillets but that didn't produce the results I'm looking for. I'd appreciate any guidance. I've attached a copy of my file if that helps.

Hi,

The file cannot be downloaded.
Either you have not granted download permission or you are using a personal license.
Try this way:

File > export > save as f3d on local drive > attach to post.

Fillets only work on the same body.

Join them, and you get a curved fillet in 2 directions.

I would look at the sketch for the Kegel revolve.

You sketched at the end of the little rectangular face, but the sketch geometry for the revolve profile is 90 degrees rotated, making this a 3D sketch.

The profile is also not straight in the Z-Axis making the Kegel slightly slated in space:

Okay, that still took me some time to figure out after I joined the two bodies. But that was it, thanks a lot!

Thanks, I hadn't noticed. Fixed that now and was able to create the fillet I wanted to.

Hi,

In the screencast I show how to:
1. bring the sketch onto the 2D plane
2. determine the axis of rotation vertically
3. integrate the cap fillet into the sketch
