I'm dealing with this same issue. I also really appreciate the long overdue improvements Autodesk has been making with Eagle and I know a lot of these features are new and in progress so I'm not trying to be a pain.. but when you say delete the "header" I don't understand what you mean. Are you suggesting that we have to delete something in the library raw XML file or something else I don't know about? If you are talking about the xml file, I think that sounds like a somewhat archaic hack. Maybe theres something Im not understanding.. What is the proper way to make things like fiducial, solder jumpers, test points, etc where there arent supposed to be a component over it without it automatically drawing that box over it in the fusion file? If there isn't one, that should be an option when you create the part in the library.

Hey there,

So I'm really excited about this feature. But I'm new to Eagle and Fusion. One Question i coulden't find an answer yet is:

I designed a PCB and pushed it to Fusion and I designed for all important Parts a 3D Package.

My problem is, that Eagle or Fusion ask me for 3D Packages for Pin Header I was not intended to mount. Or even Mountingholes.

So my Question is, is it somehow possible to dissable 3D Package for some Parts on my PCB. So that Eagle knows that it dont need to push them to Fusion. I just find this ugly red Boxes for missing 3D Packages annoying.

Thanks for your help

Hi jonasmartin.messerli,

Thank you for your partcipation on the Autodesk Forums and for using EAGLE for your PCB design needs.

There are a few solutions for your questions, the obvious one is to delete the header from the schematic/board that way it will not show up in your Fusion push.

If are using a custom library that you mapped, you can edit the package in the online managed library, here you can select the option "Remove Custom Model". This will replace the 3D model with the flat package representation of the header.

FYI: I recently learn that some users will map the package on the managed library to an empty step file, that way they don't see a component representation.

Have a GREAT DAY!!

Best Regards,

Ed

Hi

Thank you for all the great updates that have been released lately!

While the suggested solution seems to be a somewhat functioning workaround when viewing files, my problem is that I will then export this to STEP and send the file on to my mech-CAD friends. They will then have many 3D bodies that are empty and not relevant to the mechanical design, also introducing non-existing collisions in mounting holes. Either they will then have to manually delete all non-relevant bodies for each export or live with them. With the new updates, is there another way to have some components without 3D-bodies (including the blocks that are inserted when no predefined body exists)?

Best Regards

Dan
