It would look to me that if you'd have spend more time watching tutorials and reading documentation you would have been able to do this much vaster and learned more int the process.

Hey all,

I've created a model consisting of 728 individually modeled pipes, image attached. I would like to decrease each pipe's diameter from 2.6mm to 2.4mm. Is it possible to change every pipes' diameter at once?

Also, I've given each pipe a numeric label. Is there some way to order my browser on the left numerically? If I can't do this automatically, is there some way to manually move items within the browser?

Thank you for the help!

Adam

It is true this is my first attempt at any form of modeling, and I did do a decent amount of watching tutorials to at least get me started.

Anyways, I've completed organizing my pipes numerically but still need to find a way to effectively decrease all of the pipe's diameters.

Project: http://a360.co/2Hh5r8y

Not sure, but it might have helped in reducing the number of 1100 warnings your design. created when running a "Modify->Compute all"

I can tell you this the absolute record I have ever seen in more than 3 years of heavy use of Fusion 360 and more than 7000 posts on this Forum.

I am not 100% sure what your goal is with this model but think you should look into the pattern and combine tools.. Mostly because your design breaks down mostly into two basic shapes that are transformed and repeated many times.

So here is a quick version. I did in about 10-15 minutes. As you can see in the timeline it's about 100 times shorter that yours.

Simply using a sequence of 3 x pattern, combine makes quick work of this.

Then you can use the 3 user parameters to change the main dimensions.

Ok I'll look more into the combine tool, but I had to create each pipe as
its own component because I need to be able to turn off individual pipes
(to model the loss of connectivity of trabecular bone arcades, the purpose
of this model).

You can take @TrippyLighting's original file and convert it to separate components, and organize it somewhat by making assemblies. Doesn't answer your initial question of ordering it. but at least you can turn individual members off. see attached
