Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I'm sorry but I didn't understand 😕

I want my cube to be cut with my entire STL. What I can do for now is to cut it with the pins but I can't cut it with the "plastic supports".

If I understood well, you told me to hide this "plastic supports" then cut my cube with the pins and then use the " blub on/off option". I've never seen that option.

I'm not sure to understand the procedure 😕

I've tried that but I didn't manage to cut my cube as I wanted. Attached, a picture of my problem. I can choose the pins but not the "plastic support" as a "tool body"

Best regards,

Samy

Hi,

I'm facing a problem.

I want to cut a body (let's say a cube) with an stl that I imported. My STL has been converted into a body divided into N+P parts. N pins and P "plastic support" (please refer to the attachment).

I want to cut my cube with the entire "stl body" but the software don't let me choose the P plastic supports. I'm just able to cut my cube with the N pins. Do you know why ?

Best regards,

Sam

@Anonymous Thank you for sharing your problem with the community.

For cutting the only cube you should turn off the visibility of plastic and then perform the command after completing the command turn on the object using in the left-hand block by using blub on/off option may from above procedure you will get the desired output.

If you're problemed solved by the above suggestion please give kudos.

Bhavesh Raghwani

Boolean operations such as Combine(cut) only work wit solid geometry. Imported .stl files are mesh geometry and NOT solid geometry.

The plastic supports on the pin header are not solid objects - they are surface bodies.

Swap over to the PATCH workspace and see if you can STITCH each one of those together (individually). The icon in the tree should change from the orangey-cyclinder-like-shape to the white cylinder when it converts to solid. This makes the assumption that the parts are in fact solid - if they are missing a face somewhere then the stitch command won't make them solid.

Perhaps if you share your model we can provide the exact steps for resolution.

I decided to find an other step file and now the problem is gone. Like you said, maybe a surface problem.

Thanks guys 😉
