Problem with Static Stress Analysis

Dear All,

I did want to check a Static stress behavior of a part, and while everything is symmetric within the bodies and the loads, I get non-symmetric results, as one of the defined contacts would not be included in the simulation....

Any Idea how to solve this issue?

For some reason I am having trouble downloading your file.

Can you File>Export and then Attach the *.f3d file directly here?

Hi, I will try to upload it, however I am currently having my Ipad with me....

from the Web UI I was only able to download .f3z file....

if it is not good, then I can postbit tomorrow...

You are missing a contact on 1 side (circled in red below). You will need to go into the contact manager and add that surface in manually or re-do your automatic contacts.

I also don't think your mesh is adequate to get reasonable results. You may need to refine the mesh and go with parabolic curved elements depending on the stress region you are targeting.

thanks for your reply,

there are 6 contacts alltogether and the one you write is missing is the next one.

i did also try to make these both sides in a single contact but the result was the same unfortunately......

thanks for the hints regarding the mesh, I will do that but first i need the modell to work.... 🙂

any other Idea why it is not working?

Can you explain (with screen capture images) what you are seeing as the issue?

altrough it acts as that very contact would be missing, the contact is defined.

But I agree, that the results are looking as if that contact would have been not defined.

So what can I do?
