Problems with Rule Fillet

dear everybody

I am new to fusion360 - so I might have made some fundamental misstakes...

tried to model the attached holder for a bearing with parameters.

... sorry the parameters are named in German...

my main question:

how to apply a rule fillet to the blue / selected surface in the screenshot.

the blue surface is the result of a "combine" feature.

The rule fillet should somehow handle an "against feature" option.

but I did not manage to get the same result as in the screenshot - which is a normal fillet.

but this approach will not cover the case, when the blue surface get s closer to the main centre - then the next surface is part of the fillet - and the regular fillet will fail. same problem for some other cases...

well it would be nice to do it - but I do not depend on it - was just a small learning exercise for me.

IMHO the rule of thumbs are:

Do chamfers and fillets as late as possible.
If you're going for rule fillets, go for areas and not for faces

Is this what you want to achieve?

Thanks a lot for your input and "nearly" solution.

it s a great tip to select faces - the "rule fillet" will react much nicer to changed parameters and even manage a change of typology (more or less edges). thanks a lot for this.

But - sorry for this:

I still get an unwanted fillet to the screw-hole.

I had this same issue, using the "against feature" option. (between the main body and the cutaway)

and sill something is not doing the job with the first, bigger fillet (Rgrob)

but please, don t waste your time - it is not a serious project - just a personal learning example.
