Hi All,

I need to create Static Stress Analysis and test the welds in the assembly.
Is there a way to create welds, as type of Contact in simulation, or do I need to model welds as components / bodies and assign them mechanical properties?

If you have other workflow to analysis the welds I would appreciate the tips and tricks 🙂

Hi @krunoslav_knezic -

We do not have a specific contact type for just bonded edges. I would recommend checking out this class from Autodesk University on the topic of simulating welds.

http://au.autodesk.com/au-online/classes-on-demand/class-catalog/classes/year-2015/autodesk-nastran-in-cad/im11105#chapter=0

Thanks,

Thanks for this great class.

Now I have much more clear idea how FEA around welds work (or don't work lol) 🙂
