    <description>Absolutely. That's why it's best to base it on actual material specs when you're to that point.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm still a bit surprised they're that high regardless.</description>

      <title>Simulating with Aluminium 5083</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In the material properties for cold formed 5083 aluminium the data in fusion says:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Yield Strength: 280+ Mpa&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ultimate tensile strength: 375+ Mpa&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;These values are closer to structural steel and a bit of online research gives numbers of 200 and 270 respectively. Are the values in Fusion correct? Has anyone else ever noticed this?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Thats does seem high but with any FEA software, it is best to create custom materials if you know the properties of what you will be using.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The big difference between steel and aluminum is the elastic modulus. Steel should be about 3x that of aluminum. If you are running a linear elastic simulation the stresses will be accurate regardless of what your yield strength is if the modulus is correct.</description>
