Yes, unfortunately Fusion 360 lacks real UV mapping abilities, but then that's not at all unusual for CAD software.

Hi fellow Fusion users

Is it possible to manipulate the texture map control of single faces in Fusion 360 Render? It is possible to apply different materials to single faces of a body but these faces still share the texture map of the entire body. Specifically I would like to control the texture map of the edge of my 3D veneer chair that differs from the 'top' and 'bottom' faces of the body (see attached images) Do I have to split the body in the different faces before heading over to Render workspace?

Thank you in advance for any help on this.

Best regards

Rasmus

No, but you can change the mapping type to planar and avoid the odd texturing on the chair in the images you had attached.

Thank you for the quick reply, @TrippyLighting.

In the image I have attached to my post the texture mapping on the body is already set to planar (with the Y-axis as direction) but on the edge faces I have already changed the material to a material with an image that resembles the edge of 3D veneer. In the image the texture map of the edge faces is the same as the texture map of the entire body. In the image I have attached to this post I have applied the same material to the entire body (and this looks pretty good) but to really make the 3D veneer look realistic I would like to use my "Veneer edge material" on the edge faces but I cannot force these faces to have a more suitable texture map. So, you have replied to my question 🙂

Best regards

Rasmus
