Fusion not letting me doing OFFSET or SHELL

Hi, i have some problems in my project.

I'm trying to do a baking-pan to print it.
I've done it succesfully with other models, but with this i can't.

If i try the shell function, it doesn't work, as you can see in the video.

If i try to use the offset mode, the program will freeze or crash.

Your using an Imported curve there aren't you? That's the first thing I would check, because they are almost always the source of the problem.

I would hand sketch the inside perimeter and extrude. I don't think you will ever get shell to work on an outline like that.

I've tried making the sketch by myself (with arcs and lines) and the problem is this.

With an imported svg the problem isn't exactly the same but it doesn't let me to shell again.

One time i made it (i don't know how) but i lost all of my work because the program suddently crashed.
The only problem is not the shell function but the offset function too.

Because i have to offset the perimeter and then extrude it like 2mm for the part where you press with the hand.

This is the first time that i encounter a problem like this 😕

@pietro.derosas: @ would guess the same problem as @laughingcreek. Redrawing would be the best advise. Sometimes you can get around it by using the patch environment.

Can you share the model so we can check it?

Let's say (you didn't attach your *.f3d file here, so I will have to speculate) that somewhere on your perimeter you have an arc of R1mm. You try to Shell (which is an Offset) 1.5mm towards the inside of the arc of R1mm.

Question: What is the radius of the new offset arc?

I've tried first with the imported SVG, and then sketching manually, but it doesn't work the same 😕 i've attached the f3d file anyway, thank you!

1-1.5 would be a negative number.

You can't have a curve with a negative radius - that does not make logical sense (except for maybe with black holes - but I don't really know anything about that topic).

Your part will Shell at Thickness .01 but not greater.

So somewhere you have a radius of curvature of about .01.

Your imported SVG file is already containing two lines. Why are you not using those?

@TheCADWhisperer: Shell will work with 0.5mm, too. But 0.6 will fail.

Because the wall tickness should be 1.5/1.6 and doing it in this way it will be like 2.55mm.

If there is a way to make it slimmer you found my solution! ahahah

Given that this is for a baking pan - do you want draft angle on the sides to help in cake removal?

What about a fillet along bottom edge?

@pietro.derosas: @TheCADWhisperer used the existing path (both) to extrude the outer walls and the base and than he scaled it down by about 40%. Nice trick, but...
