A couple of quick comments: First, you have a LOT of sections here. I'm not sure you need all of those. I would start with getting rid of every other section. Second, I think you need to use the "Fit Curves to Mesh Section" command to get loft-able sections. I would use a spline for the outside and inside edges, and lines across the ends.

I'll keep looking at this in my spare time today...

I have been trying to make a cast around a scanned model of a hand for the past week.

I have imported one half of the shell into Fusion 360 as an .STL file and am trying to convert that into a solid body

I am using the "create a mesh section" followed by "fit curves to mesh section" option. I used closed spline in the "fit curves to mesh " as I wanted a solid body and not just a surface.

While lofting few sections create a loft and few dont.

I have been at this for over a week learning Mesh mixer and Fusion 360 and have almost reached the end. I feel like I am so close yet so far and its like a " I want to pull my hair out" moment.

Any help is much appreciated. I have attached the copy of the file link.

https://a360.co/2Jfvjpn

Thanks,

Hussain

Here is what I did for this model:

I deleted every other sketch - this seems to be sufficient

I used the Fit Curves to Mesh Section command in the sketches, using splines and lines. One trick I learned along the way was to use the "Path Direction" to get the spline to go the right way around the loop. At first, I tried picking midpoints, but this had a very negative effect on the resulting loft. Here is an example of doing this for one of the sections:

Then, I just created the loft. The result is attached. The model is a bit ugly, but it does follow the mesh body well:

There are lots of ways to tune this model, if you'd like. You can use a larger value for the "spline fit tolerance" to get smoother splines. You can manually edit the splines, insert fit points, drag tangent handles, etc to get smoother results. It's up to you...
