Does the file show the mold or the part?

One technique for creating a mold is:

Change to Patch workspace.

Delete outer faces of model.

Thicken the remaining inner faces.

Draft will have to be added where necessary.

Hi All,

Looking for some advice on where i have gone wrong with this process.

I have had a part emailed across to me that this company wants a vacuum forming tool made.

I have followed the procedures on videos but i get this result. I split it and move top part of mold i can see the pattern there but the void is covered.

https://a360.co/2tlSTH4

Any help is greatly received.

Kindest Regards Tom

Look to me like you have a number of bodies occupying the same or adjacent space, try toggling the lightbulb to make sense of the model/s.

(Not clear on Ipad, to see which is which).

Section analysis shows both are hollow.

Might help...

Morning All,

After alot of patience and playing around i found the fault which was operator error.

Basically the part that was sent had drafts on all sides. so when extruding the patch plane to get a split line it wasnt level with the base but perpendicular to the drafted side,

On extruding the split line i added a taper to counter the draft angle resulting in what i was trying to acheive.

Thank you all for your time.
