When making a 2D model out of a 3D component, is there any way of making the background a different color other than white? I tried inserting an image of blank blueprint paper and sizing that to cover the whole space but when I put the base view and projected views on the sheet they were under the inserted image of the blueprint and not visible. Is there a way to attach these base views to the inserted image? As seen in the attached images they are only visible when highlighted.

Thanks in advance

I don't believe there is a way to change the color yet. You may have to create your own title block using a different program and insert the picture or color you want as your background as part of your title block. I haven't done it so I do not know if it will work though.

One workaround is to put it on a body as a decal.

Create a component then a rectangular body and add the image as a decal.

Create a drawing and create a base view of just that component.

Create another base view of the body\bodies you want in the drawing and they should be in front of the first base view.

Mark

Edit. Just remembered I think you need to set the view for the first component to shaded.

Just click base view and you'll get another one. Here body3 is the image and body1 is the model used for the drawing.

You can also add base views to an existing drawing from the model workspace. The example below is a sheet metal part but it works with ordinary components the same way.

Please tell me this has gotten some love in the past 4 years.

I am looking to have a more stylized background for my drawings. I understand I can't change background color (just that alone would be great), so I've tried an image built into the titleblock that I've scaled to fit the background.

The problem is it always covers up the views, no matter what I do.

Is there any possible work around to get an image to show behind a view within a drawing. Please?
