CSV BOM error

I just installed CSV-BOM add in to help generate a cut list for some cabinet parts. When I open it up and make my selections, it prompts me to save the file and name it. When I click "OK" I get an error message that says "Not all Fusion models are loaded yet, please click on the root component to load them and try again." Then it kicks me out of the app.

I tried different selections on the CSV-BOM menu and still get the same result.

Does anyone know what this error message means?

Thanks!

Hi @TPrice_71,

it has to do with a weird Fusion360 behavior. If you open a design and go straight to the CSV-BOM Add-In it has not all data to perform well. But if you click the root-Component in components browser and then start CSV-BOM it is running well. This is what the message tell's you. This problem only occurs if you load a Design and go straight to CSV-BOM.

Hope that helps 🙂

@TrippyLighting Maybe a autodesk pro can look into that problem. So we can search for a solution.

That seems to be the problem. I have been able to export a few cut lists today. This is a handy app to have since the table function in Fusion is so limited. Using the Empty Table function and hand typing everything I need takes to much time and opens the door for keying errors.

Thanks everyone for your help! Great App!

I still have this issue at times. If you click on the top level component and save the file, it will work most of the time. If it doesn't work then , just restart Fusion 360 and it will work 99% of the time. I have had 2 or 3 models that no matter what I did I couldn't get it to work. Its still a great app, I use it everyday!

Hi there!

I'm having the same error with a model that was working and now it is not… the problem seems to be with "linked" files, because if I check "Exclude linked" the program works. I tried playing the construction animation to see if that helped loading whatever data CVS-BOM uses but it does not seem related. I restarted Fusion360 several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the add in twice.

I did noticed a recent windows update. What could it be?

EDIT: I made a plane, mirror all components about the new plane, hide old components, then tried CSV-BOM, checked "Exclude linked" and it worked! I lost all references in the mirror assembly, but I get the BOM 🙂 - The assembly has 73 square pieces so it was going to be a pain to measure all by hand and build a table.

Its a great program, I love how simple and useful it is for cabinetry design.

Thanks,
