topic Proper way to create joint on the multi-part components in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

While studying Joints I met with the behaviour where I could not find the way to do things right. I made a very simple example to demonstrate.

I have two Main Components, and one of them (Body) uses "Handle" component to connect to other component ( Shaft ).

What I do is rigidly joint the Handle to Body. Then, I try to connect Handle to the Shaft, and after I do that, - previous rigid connection does not work. I have Handle connected to the Shaft but not to the Body.

Of course I could resolve this by choosing the different Joints hierarchy. (connect Handle to the Shaft and then connect Body to the Shaft, but I do not like the idea of connecting Main Complex Component to the Tool Component, and I feel like connecting Tool Components to the Complex Body feels right)

How do I tell fusion to keen the old Joint when Jointing the same Component to the other stuff?

None of your components were grounded.

Ground either of the rigid plates and the handle rotates, fine.

Guys, I feel myself extremely dumb. Once I recorded the screencast I found eveything works as planned.

The misleading thing was - in the process of creating Joint - Fusion only shows the result for the two target Components, not taking in accound full Joints hierarchy.

But once you press OK for that Joint - all the rest hierarchy joints are calculated.

Previously I was not coming to click OK - seeing things work wrong 🙂

<STRIKE>Hmm.. Autodesk Screencasting sucks a lot. It gives me the links that does not work!! (here is the one if someone is interested https://autode.sk/2B9Du3K )</STRIKE> Now it works due to some reason...
