I was working in a model in Fusion360 when the program started running weird. So I saved the model, exited the program, and then restarted the program. My recent work file was empty.

I'm really hoping that I've done something simple. I open Fusion360 via a desktop link, so I don't know how I could have screwed up opening it.

I'd appreciate any suggestions that you can offer.

Larry

Did you wait until the save had competed before shutting Fusion down? Can you see your design if you go to the online Dashboard?

Thank you, Mark!

I went to the dashboard -- the missing models are there and listed as active, so they're not lost.

But I've not figured out how to put them back in the data panel so that I can access them.

How do I bring them back?

Larry

Any chance you have 2 accounts and logged into the wrong one with Fusion? If the designs are not showing in my recent data have you tried looking in the project you saved then to?

Have you tried opening the files from the dashboard, there are several places with the option to open designs on the desktop.

Not that I know of.

I've deleted and reloaded twice, but all three installs were on the same password.

One reinstall was to try to clear a problem while using Fusion 360 under a maker-space license. The other reinstall was to use some online training for which the company had created a standardized tool list, instructional videos, and then tasked increasingly sophisticated models. Could that be a problem?

What confuses me is that, with a desktop, shortcut link to Fusion, it's not clear how I could have accidentally logged into an earlier installation.

Very respectfully,

Larry

Hi Larry,

Can you please send us the Diagnostics File. Here's how to get it: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-find-and-share-the-Diagnostic-Log-Files-in-the-Fusion-360-Help-menu.html

The diagnostics files will tell us if there are files in your Upload queue, as well as any errors Fusion is seeing when trying to load the side panel.

Also, please tell us which files you are missing in the Side panel.

Thx

Thanks for the diagnostics files Larry.
I don't see any files in your Upload queue, so I think all your saves have been uploaded to the Cloud properly. I also went through several of your recent log files and don't see any problems during file open. I can see there are 10 files in your Offline cache. If you tell me which file you're missing in the Offline dashboard, I can do some more digging.

Also, have you tried clearing your local cache? Try this link: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-clear-local-user-cache-in-Fusion-360.html

Thx
Ahsan

Ahsan,

Clearing the cache made no difference.

The two important project files that I'm missing are "Dragon Rocker 3" and "Rocking Turtle".

When I went to my dashboard to see which files were not in my data, I noticed that the versions I was seeing were in a field labeled "activity". That field listed files that were still in my data, but it also listed some training files that I'd deleted recently. I deleted the files one at a time and don't think that I would have accidentally deleted the two projects that I'm working on. If I did accidentlly delete them, does Fusion 360 have a recycle bin from which a deleted file could be restored?

I sincerely appreciate your help.

Very respectfully,

Larry

Ahsan,

No, I don't have "Fusion Team," I'm under an educational license but will shift back to my previous maker-space member license.

I've never had his problem before, and -- thinking back -- I realize that it occurred after I had cleaned out older files that I had no interest in pursuing. So I'm guessing that this was operator error: I somehow clicked on the wrong files.

I've searched on how to restore a deleted Fusion file, and I understand that the answer is straight forward: you can't. So I'll have to read deeper into creating local archives.

Thank you for your willingness to help.

Very respectfully,

Larry

From the side panel, if you go to your Projects page (you may have to navigate using the "less-than-sign" at the top, you should see all your projects in the current Hub. If you click on the Hub name at the top, you should be directed to your Fusion Team page in your default web browser. Are you able to navigate to that?
Also, can you click on your User Name on the top right corner in Fusion? Do you see any "Switch Team" menu there (this allows one to change their active Hub)? If yes, can you try selecting a different Hub. Maybe the project you were looking for was in a different Hub.
