Emboss an object onto another object?

Hello,

I am trying to Emboss/Project an object onto another. I realize that in order to emboss or project something onto an object it would need to be a sketch, but I want to perform a similar action with two objects instead. For context, I am trying to lay a Triangular-Pipe object onto a Sphere.

Thanks!

Hi,

Are you aware that you do not just have the option of projecting parts of a sketch into a new sketch but you can also

project a body onto a sketch?

I would start by creating a new sketch on the bottom flat surface of the triangle and project body to get the shape on

the sketch. To emboss it into the sphere you then project cut down into the sphere the distance you want. This will lead

to a little distortion as the shape cuts into the curved surface but it should be close enough as long as the triangle is

not too big. You may also need to use press pull to get the depth more even on the emboss.

Cheers

Andrew

Sweep the Triangle with Path and Guide Surface.

Surface of the (solid) Sphere is not selectable, so you have to build one.

Might help.....
