I am not sure how to start with trying to duplicate the design of this part. End result would be I send to my 3D printer to make new ones (no longer available). They are simply trim pieces, no stress at all. They could be made simpler, but if possible, I would like as close as I can.

Is it best to sketch basic shape- then project that to make points in ‘3D’ to get ‘non-flat’ shape?

I have not figured easiest way to make those.

Or perhaps better to do it in 3D sketch mode? I have done very little of that.

Hi,

1. I almost never use a 3 d sketch
2 . I would start from a basic sketch and then develop the profiles (with the help of additional canvases) additively or subtractively

I am fairly new to Fusion, so while I know a few things, I have not figured how to change the 2D sketch into the shapes required for these parts.

I will do some more learning.

Thank you

Hi,

With tools such as Extrude, Sweep and Loft, you can develop 3D objects from 2D profiles, which in turn are modeled with new profiles.

So you would make multiple objects from 2D sketches. Then join those together?

I’ve certainly made use of extrude, sweep, cut etc. But never to a shape anything like these.

Thanks

( a nozzle, two parts I did awhile back).

More photos like the last 2. Shows the height - and that some of it is straight. Initially ignore the grooves, and go for the flattish floor, and then the top overall curved face to be trimmed off as you go. Disregard the mounting objects and go for the biggest pieces.

Set up on the table that give the measurements off the table for heights.

Start with an outline sketch. For each leg of the shape, use plane on angle, 90 degrees for a vertical sketch. Plot the right height off the table, and curves in those sketches.

Use Surface bodies, and give thickness later.

need a canvass side view like pic 4.

Quick guess, step up the timeline.

Might help….
