After opening "sketch" I make a set of parallel, vertical lines, 1, 40mm long and 1, 20mm long

starting at the same line but slightly apart.

I then select the equal constraint, select the shorter line then the longer and the longer

matches the shorter. As it should.

I make another set of parallel lines, select the longer then the shorter then the Equal constraint

and while the shorter line does becomes longer it does so below the starting

point of both lines instead of going up to match the longer line.

Any info appreciated.

I will make a guess, your shorter line is not "coincident" with the base line. As you can see the test you describe works perfectly and the short line matches the long line's length. Attach your model and we will see.

Hi,

I would strongly recommend that you do the embedded tutorials in the Fusion Documentation and also some of the

Self-Paced Learning to help you to learn fusion faster and better. They can be found here:

It is also much easier for the forum to help you if you attach your file AND a screenshot of what you want to achieve

and what the problem is. You can create a file to export like this:

Time spent on the tutorials and self paced learning will not be wasted.

As @jhackney1972 has suggested, this is probably a case of the second set of lines not being co-incident. This is one

of those issues where you need to be careful about when fusion puts in automagic constraints. Sometimes it helps and

sometimes it doesn't - especially if you don't notice them as seems to be the case here. Also fusion sometimes puts

in constraints it thinks you want but you actually don't and you and you have to delete them.

I have suggested you go through the documentation. There are heaps of tutorials and it is a good way to learn fusion.

Another handy trick with constraints is to use the Sketch.ShowUnderconstrained command in the Text Command box.

Cheers

Andrew
