Reflectance is related to the count of light that is reflected, but not necessarily the kind of reflection.

What you want to do is modify the roughness value to change from specular reflection to diffuse reflection.

Everything in my rendering is shiny, even when materials have the reflectance turned down to zero, how do I turn off the shiny? The ground is a block with a decal. I assigned a matte plastic and turned doun the reflectance to zero and it is refelcting the fusion back ground. If I change the background, still shiny, if I change the decal and/or the block, still shiny, change the material on the block, still shiny. Did I hit some hidden button to make everything shiny no matter what? How do I turn it off?the ground is shiny

Thank you Trippylighting. That worked on the objects, but not on the decal, oddly. The block the decal is applied to is the same shader as the trees, the trees are now non reflective, but the decal still is. It is reflecting the sky, trees, and the yellow/red. The decal is a iphone photo of a printed piece of paper that has no reflectivity. I do not find any controls for the decal itself to change roughness.

There decal itself does not really have any material settings. As such you might have to define a new material and use the decal as an image texture in that material.

Or, it might be enough to modify the material of the object/face the decal is applied to.
