Moving components to locate them in reference to other components is simply the wrong technique in most cases. That's what the joints in the Assemble menu are made for.

There's nothing per-se wrong wth the move tool. In fact it can be very useful.

Trying to move three components at once by using the move tool, just like in a tutorial I purchased from udemy.com shows. Two components have a rigid joint between them and the remaining one has a revolute joint with one of the others. When I try to move all three none of them do, but when I tried to move the main component it moves without problem. When I try to move the troublesome component, which has the revolute joint applied it does not move, if I remove the revolute joint then it moves but it does not rotate anymore.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

D.

Nevermind, turns out I was joining with a circle on the wrong sketch. Forgot to project it to the current component.

If a tutorial advises you to move any component with the move tool then that tutorial was not worth it's money. Can you provide a link to the tutorial ?

Just for my education, what's wrong with the move tool? Not that I've found it very useful, but I'm just curious.

Depends on the context, but it is best avoided, usually there are better tools, dimensions in sketches, build in place for bodies, and Joints in Assemblies.
