My guess is that the STL was designed in units that are different from what you're using in Fusion.

hello community,

i have a strange problem, when i import stl files to fusion 360, fusion blows the stl files up much and much bigger then the orginal file...

i tried to find out whats wrong or causing this but i can't figure it out, my preferences are oke and set to mm

can someone help me out please cause this is very annoying

picture 1 shows my extreme blowup picture 2 shows the same stl file in fusion of a frend of mine

thanks

martijn

Insert rather than Open - this will give you the option to set appropriate Units.

I found the problem this evening .. Opening an stl file thru the file ->
open file part of fusion makes the stl file 10 times bigger then the
orginal ... How that is possible i dont know but the answer lays in using
the insert tab-> import mesh and open stl then.
Next prob then you cant convert the mesh too brep ... Solution is to
disable the timeline and then use the mesh to brep tab when you rightclick
on the mesh piece
