Hi, I am currently trying to use motion studies to animate the motion of linear slides in Fusion 360. These slides have to be parallel to each other and for ease of use, I created 1 side and then mirrored all of the components to make the other side. I realize that joints do not stay when mirroring a component, but when I go to try to recreate joints on the mirrored components it doesn't work properly. When I create a sliding joint on one portion, it just automatically makes the same joints on the other components, naming each joint the same, not allowing me to properly animate using motion study since each stage of the linear slides are under the same joint name.

@bears54bu This one intrigued me enough, just from the description, to see if I could reproduce it. I tried a very simple case, and it seemed to work as expected. See the screencast below.

Just out of curiosity, is it at all possible that when you mirrored, you mirrored the bodies instead of the components? Do you see mirrored components in the browser like in my screencast? I tried that, and found that, while it does not create two joints, it does look like that is what it is doing, because the bodies will move synchronously, because they are in the same component.

If that's not it, then as @TrippyLighting says, share your design here, please.

screencast:

I tried this and it worked perfectly thank you for the information. I had accidentally chosen body instead of components and is why it did not work.
