Hi guys, I created this parts via 3 extrusions and some fillets.
provided this is not a sheet metal part, is there a better way to get the end result?

@crullier, there are lots of ways to do this. I would be tempted to do it from the side profile, either as a closed profile into a solid, or maybe as a single line into a surface body, then Thicken into a solid. Fillets on the corners, then the holes. Probably not a whole lot more efficient than your way, to be honest.

Assuming the bottom of the upper plane is in line with the top of the lower plane, I could do it with two extrusions instead of three, but otherwise, no. You could approach this in several different ways, but none of them are going to be any more efficient. I mean, that's pretty simple already.

Why would you not manufacture that as a sheet metal part?

Hard to tell from the image - but the thickness does not look uniform at the "bends" which would make this an expensive part to manufacture.

Can you File>Export and then Attach the *.f3d file here?

Thanks eveyone.

A sheet metal part would have made sense if it were going to made that way. Do you guys agree? Or does it not really matter as long as you get the part?

I didnt want to have to deal with changing the sheet metal defintion to get the desired thickness

I will wager that the geometry that you have created is not really the geometry that you want.

If you're going to 3D print it, or mill it, or whatever, then no, making it an actual Sheet Metal part within Fusion doesn't matter.
