Hello,

I need to 3D print this specific plane for an experiment for a school project, and I am having some trouble. I split the plane in half with plane-cut to get two halves better suited for 3D printing. When I export the mesh body as an STL file and preview that STL, it seems that the only part of the STL visible is the mesh parts colored purple in Fusion360. When I go to print, only the wings and nacelle print. This is my first time using Fusion360 for a project, so I am not sure what exactly to look up to figure this problem out, as I am not too familiar with Fusion360 vocabulary. Can anyone easily identify my problem/point to a command or suggest a good resource for me to look at? I have a basic understanding of AutoCAD, but I have not worked with a file like this. It's all surface bodies.

Hey GeorgeMoll, welcome!

I think the problem is that the normals on the mesh aren't all facing the same way. on the outside of the model, all of the faces should be purple, but some of these faces are gold as you can see in the image below. You can reverse normals in Fusion by selecting each of the faces, then going to Modify>Reverse Normal in the Mesh workspace.

Meshmixer is a free Autodesk tool that's great for this sort of thing if you find it's difficult in Fusion.
