    <description>&lt;P&gt;you have the insert mode set to "exact".&amp;nbsp; This mode will preserve the existing geometry exactly, but the cost is this added complexity to the model.&amp;nbsp; If you choose "simple" for the insert mode, the complexity will be much less, but this can introduce geometry changes&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Inserting edge causes serface complexity to increase.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have, what I thought, was a pretty simple topology.&amp;nbsp; These are the feet of a character.&amp;nbsp; The right toe should be pointing up.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I inserted an edge either side of the centre so I can separate them.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;When I click OK the topology complexity increases by quite allot.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The reason fo the increase in topology is that you have committed the ultimate T-Spline sacrilege when woking with triangles. You should avoid all triangles in T-Splines. Works with quad faces only. A polygon with 5 vertices is OK as well, but not more than that.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
