Mesh conversion and step export

I have the problem that after converting a mesh into an organ model I have a T-spline mesh body which I cannot export as STEP.

If I can then convert the model. If I want to convert the image, I have to select each edge individually, which is not possible with more complex models. Is there another solution for this?

Is there another way to keep the edges? Then the single selection. Can I select the edges with the area selection or something similar? In larger models I can't select every single edge. This menu opens when I right click on the mesh body.

Yes, I have to select the edges so that I can convert the mesh. Otherwise Fusion gives me an error. Or am I on the wrong track?

Possibly. Can you share the model so I can see what the error is and perhaps suggest a fix?

You can export the model as a .f3d file and attach it to a forum post.

Enclosed is the file.
I have converted an STL into the model which is attached. I would now like to export this as a STEP file. So far I have always received the error message described.

I see what you mean. Usually this is just a warning message and all "normal" solid bodies and surfaces are exported.

You can either delete the T-Spline body, or turn on the timeline.

Then the export works!

@Phil.E I would classify this as a bug.

It's not a bug. The file has a t-spline body because it's not parametric.

Turn on the timeline and it will export as a step without complaint.

I don't understand why this would be expect or desirable behavior.

if I have a DM model with a bunch of bodies in it, and hide all but one, then just the one body will be exported to a .stp. if one of those (hidden bodies) happens to be a t-spline, then I can't. that makes no sense.

I don't disagree with you. All I'm saying is that it's not a bug if the software is performing as-design.

The warning looks pretty clear to me. But perhaps this could use more words to help users. I'm open to suggestions.

And you can export the design, if it has a timeline. That's the main thing missing from this dialog box, IMO.

Also, just to be clear: I'm not a manager, developer, user experience designer, or decision maker. I help forum users understand the product, and report issues.
