topic Difficulty with appearances applied to Direct Modeled parts in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I'm converting some components into Direct Modeled parts to reduce the number of joints used.

This seemed to be going fine until I started applying appearances:

Many of the faces wont accept an appearance unless it is applied to the entire body.

Performing a "compute all" will revert back to the base material appearance.

Changing the base material reverts back to the original base material after a compute all.

I've attached a simple hub as an example.

Am I doing something wrong? Appearances / base materials were super easy with timeline modeled parts.

Thanks,

Your answer is to go into editing the base feature by right-clicking on the Base Feature in the timeline and choose "Edit" from the menu. Then select each face in turn and apply an appearance. Make sure you close the Appearance dialog box, select another face, then right-click to bring up the Appearances dialog box again. Take a look at the screencast.
