topic Fusion360 in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Hello, it is truly the best company in the world. Thank you for everything. It is good that you exist Autodesk. But I have a question. Will I be able to run Fusion360 on a tablet or phone in the future? I do not always have my computer with me. What always crosses my mind is to be able to use it on a phone or tablet. What do you say about this idea? Do you have such a project? If you do, when will it be released? I am curious. Thank you for everything. It is good that you exist.

Hi,

I think you can run fusion on an iPad now. You can certainly run a cut down version of AutoCAD on a tablet. You can

use a web based version of fusion also. The web based version should be able to be used on a tablet browser. I am

not sure how much functionality you would get on a phone because of the screen size but tablet should work.

Cheers

Andrew

If you have a commercial license there is a browser version you can run now. Not sure if or how well it'll work on a pad\phone but worth a try.

@HughesTooling I don't believe the browser version works on tablets like the iPad. It only works in Desktop browsers, but I will verify this through the Fusion Slack channel.

@Drewpan , there is no native Fusion version that runs on any iOS/iPad device. The newer Microsoft Surface tablet computers do run a full Windows OS, but that is an ARM, not Intel, version of the OS, and there is no native Windows/ARM version of Fusion.

If you've ever used shpr3D on an iPad, you'll see how far the Fusion UI would have to be changed to be a suitable and competitive alternative on a tablet device!

In 2017 I tried to use Fusion on a Microsoft Surface 3 notebook, using only the detachable screen and the Microsoft pen. It was a sobering experience!

Although I liked the screen itself and the performance of the device in general, the tablet experience, in combination with the dismal touchpad, was so bad that I sold the computer and bought a MacBook Pro. The trackpad on these devices, at least at that time, was so far ahead of any other computer that it completely defined the experience.

Using a tablet and pen is so different from using a computer, it requires significant changes to the UI. For example, how often do we use modifier keys or keyboard shortcuts when using Fusion on a "normal" computer?
There are no keys on a tablet!
