I would like to make have a smooth sphere with a perpendicular extrusion. But I can't seem to obtain an angle without deforming the shape of the sphere:

This is in box mode, the extruded hole is the shape I would like to maintain:

Square hole extrusion

This is the smoothed shape:Smooth shape

I tried by using crease but this is what I obtain, the spherical shape is ruined near the holeCurvature by using crease

I would like to know if you have any suggestions on how to make such a geometry in the sculpt environment?

Because from my understanding if I go back to model and make the hole, I will not be able to continue to edit in sculpt mode the sphere with the hole.

Ps: I also tried to add more detail (edge) but the sphere is still deformed in proximity of the hole

Do you have the cart before the horse?

Finish the sphere without the hole, cut the hole in model space, you will not have to come back to Sculpt.

Might help.

I can't do that because I still need to work on the form after making the hole.

I wanted to know if it's possible to do that kind of shape in the sculpt environment, because I can't seem to make a steep corner on a curved surface, without modifying the shape.

There is not reason you could not create that trapezoidal shape as a separate shape in the same Form feature.

I would like to model a demi sphere, and at the end add thickness as a parameter (the shape resembles a worker hard hat). I need to have those surfaces (extrusion) perpendicular to the spherical shape. I hope the images attached make it a bit more clear.Box view: desired extruded shape

But this I what obtain and I can't seem to make a flat surface perpendicular to the sphere, without deforming all the adjacent area:

Smooth view

Because I would like to be able to take advantage of the polygonal modeling in the sculpt environment (edit form). It allows me to move the position/dimension of the hole (vertices and edges) easily. Since the model is not fixed in dimension/shape it's really important at this stage to be able to adjust it on the fly.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but otherwise to accomplish the above shape I need to do the following: finish the form --> combine the 2 bodies and then stitch the extrusion (box shape) to the sphere, so that I have one surface body?
