I am sure this is very simple, but for the life of me I cannot remember how I did this previously, nor can I find what I'm looking for through searches.

I can see that I previously used the sweep function to attach the ring perpendicular to the flat body but now cannot figure out how to draw the cicle path perpendicular to the body I'd like to join it to. I am adept at autocad, but a novice at best wit Fusion 360.

the pictures I attached, show what I am trying to do, and have previously accomplished.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your quick reply. It doesn't help that fusion 360 is freezing
and crashing on me constantly, makes the process slower. Are you able to
elaborate a bit more? I am pretty sure I need to sketch a circle on the
face, and then a circle perpendicular to the face going through the center
point of the first circle, and then sweep along the second perpendicular
circle. I am trying to remeber how I sketeched the second circle
perpendicular, I think I used a plane. Like I said, this program has been
crashing constantly for the past 2 days, so progress is painfully slow.

When / if you use the origins as provided, you place the two circles that I marked 1, on the flat no 1 plane.

Then on the no.2 plane sketch the sweep path (2) to use with the small circle.

The small circle is cut in half by the big no1 circle, so select both when selecting the Sweep profile,

You only need two sketches and the Revolve tool, no sweeps are needed.

Create Component1.

Create the first sketch on any plane. Draw a line to use as the center axis of the large ring. Draw the profile of the large ring at the appropriate distance from the center axis. Close sketch.

Revolve the profile.

Create Component2.

Create an offset plane 90 degrees to the first sketch and located at the radius distance from the large ring center axis. If the Component1 plane isn't aligned with one of the main origin planes, you can use a combination of Plane at angle and offset plane.

Create a sketch on the new plane.

Draw the profile of the small ring and a line to use as its center axis. Close sketch.

Revolve the profile.

p.s. You can also just create the large and small rings at any arbitrary positions, then use a joint to align them.

@Anonymous - I searched in the crash report database, and cannot find any reports from your email address. We encourage you to send these in, as it does help us help you. Sometimes, for example, we find that crashes from a certain user are all graphics-related, and updating a graphics driver can solve the problems. So, please send those in, and make sure that your email address is filled out in the report.

Also, are the general problems you refer to on a specific model, or is it a more general problem? Sometimes "laggy" behavior can be caused by having a very large sketch in your design (often imported from SVG or DXF).

The more information, the better. We can't help you without it.

its a pretty simple sketch I have imported from a dwg file. right now I
can't even start a new project....it just keeps thinking after I try and
start a new one. so empty folder/file and it is freezing from the get go.
