Scale to absolute size

Not sure why I can not find this in fusion but how do you resize an existing body or component to an absolute size. For example I imported a model into fusion and its the wrong size. I need to rescale it to 8 inches long in one dimension.

Can you File>Export and then Attach the *.f3d file here?

That sounds like a direct editing operation should work. (Assuming this isn't an imported stl mesh.)

I can’t post the model it is for work. I want to scale uniform but use the longest side to scale from.

Can you make up a dummy file that exhibits the same characteristics of your proprietary data?

There isn't an option to select a dimension/object and directly scale it so it is specific size. You will have to do some math.

scale=(new length)/(current length)

use the "scale" command under the modify menu, set the scale factor to the calculated value.

OK, That's what I figured. This is such a basic modeling need Im am really shocked it is not in Fusion especially in the direct modeling module. I can see it NOT being an option when working with components and assemblies and parametric geometry, but then again with parametics, you have everything dimensioned so you would not need it.

Just food for thought

I worked in Rhino 3D for 20 years IF you need to rescale something to an exact size you select it snap to endpoint or edge, then snap to a second reference edge or point or corner then type in your new desired dimension into the command line. DONE makes no sense fusion does not have something close to this. you can resize uniform OR non uniform.
