We are in the process of completing 3 fixes related to this:

Exporting to DXF from a sketch will no longer export that control frame. This is planned for the next update

Importing DXF from the application will now have an option to not convert DXF splines to CV splines (and therefore will not create the control frame). This fix did not make the immediate next release, but will be in the following one

CAM toolpath geometry will prevent inadvertent selection of construction geometry (including the control frame) when selecting tool path geometry. Again, that fix will come in the release after the upcoming one.

guys from past few days i am getting these "construction lines" around curves when exported from dxf or illustrator..

not sure how to get rid of these as when exported to dxf format these construction lines appear in the file and get cut in the laser cutter...

any idea how to disable these dotted line and why is this happening ?

have attached a screen shot of the same..

regards

that is extremely annoying behavior. I guess you realize those are the control cage for the control point spline you are using, and you can't turn visibility off.

A mostly painless work around would be to create a new sketch on the same plane, and project the sketch elements you want to export as a dxf to it. A dxf from this new sketch won't have the extra lines.

Why is this annoying? This is a customer-requested improvement. Previously, you were unable to edit imported spline curves from DXF or SVG. You could only translate them. Now that we have CV splines in Fusion, we can convert these curves into a Fusion native curve which can be edited! Kinda surprised at the reaction, to be honest... The control frame does not participate in profile or path detection, so that should not be affected.

Hey Jeff-I think the OP is talking about exporting TO a dxf, and then using that dxf for laser cutting. The extra control lines show up as regular geometry and get cut along with the spline.

But it is a bit annoying that the control frame is always visible, even when the sketch is not active. This isn't consistent with the visibility of the tangent handles for a fit point spline.

oh, OK, I apologize. Yeah, if we are exporting that control frame as regular AutoCAD lines, then yeah, that seems wrong to me. I'll investigate.

thanks a lot guys for the reply...

yes its a great feature to edit imported splines but the issue is during export of the same file the control lines show up as "actual" lines in the exported file and also gets cut as regular lines in the laser cutter..
