How to create multiple slots in surface along body (Sweep along a face?)

So I have this small project, where I have an golf handle that I will put some electronics in.

I need to make a small slot / cut-out on the outside of the handle.

Normally I work with simple shapes like a cylinder or a box, and then it is easy to just extrude or create a extra shape to use as cut-out model.

For this my guess is that I need to use "Sweep" function, but I need to get the path to sweep on.

How can I obtain a "path" from my body part? - I need it 4 times along the body, and the body is changing shape along the axis.

I have made a small picture showing where I would like to get a "profile" of the surface
