I am new to Fusion 360 and also 3d modeling in general. I am familiar with 2D CAD. This is all new to me.

I would like to know if someone can help me model the texture pattern on a flashlight switch boot. I will include picture of the texture I need.

It looks like the pattern is 1mm from tip to tip of each pyramid. They are shaped like pyramids but instead of a point at the top they are rounded. I will also include my f3d file so you can see the Switch Cap Boot I designed.

I need to make the texture raised up from the boots curved surface.

If there is a video somewhere that can show me how to do this that would be great. I have seen several videos just to get to where I am now. 🙂

Any help would be appreciated.

This is exactly what I am looking for. A little smaller height of the peaks but still the same concept. Now I just need to figure out how to do it to my model of the boot.

A screen cast would be very helpful. I will see if I can come up with something just by going with your timeline. I am very new to this so I am not sure how this will work.. 🙂

Thank you,

Another method might be to use the CAM/Manufacture workspace:

That helped out for a different project. I can do this on a shaft or a flat surface. I have no problem doing that. I am having a problem doing it on the convex surface of the boot. It isn't a flat surface. I can't seem to find a video showing how to do it on my type of surface.
