      <title>simulating a simple spinning blade (mower)</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;i'm trying to figure out an approach to simulating a trimming device (like a weed eater or lawn mower.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;i've created a super simple representation of one, and recorded a video of it - but for some reason the audio didn't record.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;the spinning blade rotates on a fixed axle.&amp;nbsp; it spins around, but there is an obstruction in the way.&amp;nbsp; i want to run a simulation to see the weak point in the design in the scenario that it hits a hard obstruction (like a rock, or a concrete curb.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;i've tried static stress, non-linear static stress and event simulation, and i keep running into various problems - either i can't get the blade to spin, or the simulation errors out.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;could someone give me some guidance about how to approach this?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;PRE&gt;Event simulation with an initial velocity. Not sure if it can be set to an angular velocity though as I've never tried it.&lt;/PRE&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;unfortunately the initial velocity setting in an event simulation doesn't help.&amp;nbsp; it doesn't seem like there is a concept of rotation.&amp;nbsp; i can only give a direction vector on a face.&lt;/P&gt;
