How to position objects on a surface?

So i downloaded a model that i am attempting to edit. I'm starting slow, or so i thought. I've been using Sketchup for a couple years now so i thought this would be easy... I entered "Sketch Mode", and created a rectangle on this surface that i will want to push through to create a hole in that panel. The problem i'm having is exactly locating this rectangle where i want it.

If i was in sketchup, i would create guide lines from parallel edges and dictate the distance from that line to the guide line. Create 2-4 guide lines like this, and i have an exact spot for a rectangle and where to draw or place it. How do i do this in Fusion360? I need this rectangle to be exactly 38mm from the left edge, and flush with the bottom layer. Also i need a portion of that bend radii going from the bottom to this face to be removed where this square will be, but i was going to try to figure that out after this...

Am i going about this all wrong?

Same as Sketch up, only change is the name, Dimension.

Project into the Sketch the edges you need to dimension from.

when you extrude cut, go in both directions.

It would have been REALLY nice to have that "Sketch Dimension" button on the toolbar by default. Even after i watched your video like 5 times, it took me a while to figure out where that option was and how to pin it to the toolbar.

Any other "must have" things i should pin to the toolbar like this?

Totally your choice, pin what you use the most, or remember the keyboard shortcut.

What we do may not suit you.

Please explore below links where it show short cut keys for Fusion 360.

Its good to save your time while working.

For Dimension I used "D" short cut key in video. Please check below links

I don't suppose there is some "how to" video's that show how to make Fusion360 work like Sketchup?

Maybe its just the learning curve, but right now i have to have both open, go figure out what i'm wanting to do exactly in sketchup, then move those measurements over to Fusion360. It just feels so much more intuitive to do things in Sketchup, and i wish there was ways to make Fusion360 more like that.

Like the measure tool. It seems completely useless because it always measures in straight lines and not along axis. In Sketchup if i am measuring a distance, its usually along one of the 3 axis, and i can hit up, left, or right arrows to lock the measuring tool to the axis i am wanting to see. Is there a way to do that with the Fusion360 Measuring tool?
