Hello,
A view is assigned to the part with the 3D texture command in the Solidworks program. Then, this assigned image can be assigned as geometry outside the material. An image can be assigned to the part in the Fusion program. I want to print the structure formed on the surface of the material on a 3D printer. The printer does not see the part even though the view has been changed. Is there a way to do this in Fusion? I am adding a video link on how to do it in Solidworks.

Hi,

An appearance in fusion is just that, an image of what it looks like. It is not a physical 3D texture that is somehow

transferred to the body you have applied it to. In order to do this the texture would have to be parametricly

defined for it to be applied to the surface. There is a roughness parameter that can be set but this is different and

as far as I know is used more in simulation.

Unless it is an advanced modelling tool or there is a plugin that allows you to apply 3D textures directly to bodies,

I am not aware that this function is in fusion - Yet.

Hi,

Why are most of the commands and applications in the Fusion program not fully featured? There is always something missing and mostly simple things. Sometimes I have difficulty understanding the logic of the program. A command is either fully featured or not at all. It is useless to leave it half-done.

Hi,

I don't know what you mean by fully featured but fusion certainly does have a rich command set. The main issue is

that many people are not willing to spend a little time reading the documentation or doing the tutorials to find

things. There is a video of updates that comes out every month and sometimes more often that tells people of new

commands and functionality. The fusion YouTube channel also has many beginner, intermediate and advanced

videos, as does AutoDesk University. I am constantly telling people that time spent viewing these resources is

never wasted. Sometimes a little investigation will find what you want.

I usually try to look at the features. I make comparisons with different programs. For example, I search if a feature in SolidWorks is also available in Fusion. If I can't find it, I write it on this page. Valuable people like you comment and help.
