Can you give us any idea what sort of shape you want? Are those three plates supposed to be inside, behind the cover? Or are those three faces supposed be through the cover, flush with its exterior surface? Something? Anything?

I'm trying to model up a new cover for the cabin light in my car - I want 3 huge LEDs places pointing i 3 different directions - like the 3 faces in this project: https://a360.co/2ye08DA The frame is already testet for fitting in the car, so it must NOT be changed. I've tried the FORM-tool, ending up in a mess I couldn't solve - I'm sure it's what's to be used, but I can't finish the job. How it it done ?

While this can be done with the from tool, the tools in the surface area are likely the better choice.

However, if the Fram really cannot change then I'll have to throw the towel. The workflow in that file and the resulting geometry are in dire need of repair and without that I feel unable to help you.

The 3 plates is just a sort of flat base for mounting the LEDs so they are pointing in the right directions - I pointed them 30° down and then the two outer was turned 30° to left and right.

I THINK the final shap as something like a carpet covering the plates and fastened to the frame and the "rounded" a little where the plates are making "too sharp" edges.

The LEDs need to have 1-2mm flat area around the holes to register on - the surface needs to have a thicknes of 2mm

If you can post some data about the LED's e.g. their dimensions, a link to their data sheets etc. then I can show you how would approach this.

> Peter Doering

I have no other than electrical data on the LEDs and ofcause the diameter of the hole - I have a messy 3D print where the holes needs to be 19.5Ø (diameter)

I think there has to be a sort of "flat ring" around the hole for the LEDs to register on - 2mm wide.

If you just could give me some keywords or steps I should follow it would be very nice - thx !
