Sheet metal flanges: Tapered edges.

Hello,

I am drawing up a bumper for my truck using the sheet metal tools.

Everything is going great, but I am now stuck;

The edges of the bumper taper to smaller edges as they wrap around the bumper.

I have been making a regular flange, unfolding, sketching a line, extruding and cutting the material to size and repeating.

This can be difficult when unfolding and sketching the angle as I am essentially guessing some of the angles, due to the shape it needs to adhere to when folded. Is there an easier way to simply taper the flange as it's being made? For example: Start edge- 100mm wide 100 mm legth Finished edge 80mm wide (Angles equal on both sides) Is this possible or does it have to be sketched as mentioned? Thanks!

Hard to picture what you're trying to do. Using a lofted flange might do what you want where you draw 2 sketches on different planes.

Something like this someone else asked about today. Files attached. Also have a look through the help might give you some ideas.
