topic Filled in Text in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Hi - This should be easy but I am stuck. I am trying to figure out how to setup text so that when 3D printed with dual extrusion the text is surrounded by a body. The text would be one color and the body another. I created two bodies and put the word Test as a join to the bottom body. I then used the same text on a top body and cut through it. The intention was that the bottom body and text would sit within the cutout of the top body. It seems the cut in the top body prevents that from happening. Model is attached.

Assuming there is a way to do this - I would like to use it for images too - is there a way to copy the text and place it on the top body for cutting without having to recreate it and line up by Mark 1 Mod 0 eyeball?

Thanks,

Fred

Your last extrude cut through the letters on the bottom piece probably because you had the visibility of both parts turned on. A better way to do this is to use combine and check cut and keep tools. You will also have to manually offset the sides of the letters to give clearance for assembly. Here is the fixed file too.
