I'm sure this is something super obvious that I'm missing, I"m pretty new to Fusion and modeling in general. I've had success creating toolpaths on plenty of projecI ts, but for some reason I'm getting an "empty toolpath" warning on this every time I try it.

I'd ideally like to have a roughing bit remove most of the waste and then have a 91degree V bit (Amana RC-1028, which I tried to create in my tool library since I cant find a file for it) clean up the mitres.

Can anyone see in the .dxf linked what's going on?

Much appreciated in advance,

Ryan

Attach your Fusion 360 file. The dxf is useless for debugging a toolpath issue.

You need to use a 2d Contour for this. It can also easier to set up single edge contours with a sketch.

Thanks for that info.. I don't totally understand why it would be a 2D contour though, you're then defining the cut by the wall taper angle instead of the model geometry and having to make an extra sketch also? The file linked below is what I've been referencing, which I found in the forum searching for some answer to this problem.. It's using 3d contour and the model geometry right? I can't understand why when I try and follow these settings I get and empty toolpath... I don't see what I'm doing wrong.. Or why I can't choose the mitre face as the only selection I want to cut.

Thanks in advance for any further explanation..

It seems the error is in Setup3. The models you have selected appear to be referencing the first instance of the components. Deleting these and just selecting the bodies will allow the toolpaths to be generated.

I rarely use 3d toolpaths, so it took a while to find the problem.

p.s. This may be a bug depending on how you selected the models in the setup.
