I am doing a 3D print of some curved script text. I need to thicken the text so that it will hold together. I created the curved text on Gravit Designer and thickened it by turning the text into a path and increasing the outline. This LOOKS right but when I export and SVG it exports the font and not the new perimeter that I created.

Can you help? I do not know how to thicken the text within Fusion 360.

Thanks

Hi,

The (my) way:
1. Import svg: Insert > SVG (select Plane and file) >ok

Screencast:
2. unlock and edit some parts in sketch mode
3. select all and remove inner parts of letters
4. select extrusion thickness
4. ready

günther

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I was able to remove the holes in the uploaded SVG but the text connectors are still too thin to print on a 3D printer and have them hold together. How can I thicken everything evenly?

Oh! I know how to extrude the text but not how to evenly thicken the perimeters of the sketch so that all of the connecting lines between the text are thicker.

Hi,

It's not witchcraft, but it takes a little manual work and perseverance.
At the beginning the fixation (green lines) has to be removed completely or partially. Then lines are removed and new ones (Splines) added and aligned.

günther
