Is the Lenovo yoga C940 sufficient enough to run f360. I have read the requirements for f360 but I can see me going and buying something and while to trying to be as thorough as possible havinf to return it for another. Thanks

I imagine it could run Fusion. Now run it well might be another story. It doesn't have a standalone graphics card and that is a recommendation for any CAD work.

My gut says pass. But i'm moving this thread to DVD for them to chime in.

Sorry, when I asked I didn’t realize that the 14” model could not be purchased with dedicated card but the one I am actually asking about is the C940 15.6” model.. There are a bunch of configurations on the c940 but for some reason does not have sub model number to differentiate between them. The 14” model has the graphics integrated but the 15.6” has an Nvidia g force Gtx 1060 graphics card and 9th gen i7 and i9 or are least I think i9 with up to 8 core. I was thinking hopefully the i7 non uhd model would be enough to save a little money. So with the larger screen model having a dedicated 1060 graphics card do you still feel the same about how it will run f360? Thanks

@slaughlin79, Fusion 360 can run on almost any HW configuration, but the question is How it will Run/Perform?
In order to answer that, comes another question, How complex your models are?
You also need to remember that a Mobile CPU & GPU are not the same as a Desktop CPU & GPU!
If you are going to use it for small parts, then you should be ok with i7 CPU and MX150 GPU (I have the MX150 and it works very good - Asus ZenBook 433fn).
I have another question for you, Is it going to be your main computer or an addition to a desktop computer?

Cheers / Ben.

I completely understand that this is no desk top and could never do what one does or I won’t say never but to answer your question, I will be doing what I’m sure you would consider simple, single part models. But, as I learn and grow Im sure they will get more complex drawings. I figured if I ever got to the point where models were that complex I would buy a dedicated desktop but, that will be down the road. Whatever I buy will be used to run f360 and absolutely nothing else.

Instead of asking if the laptop in question will run f360, I think a better question would be would is the Lenovo C940 15.6” with Nvidia 1060 card and 16gb of ram with an i7 be a laptop for a home base, hobby-for-now, beginner just starting to learn cad? I’m not going to school for this and will not be source of income, I’ve just always wanted to learn it. Also when I get my cnc vmc down the road I don’t want to have to learn two complicated system's at one time.
