Hello,

I'm having problems with getting my sketches done.

This is my first more complex project on Fusion 360, so there's been quite a lot of back-and-forth editing on every element and the file seems to be a bit messed up, but contains so much work I cannot start anew.

Here's the latest problem: I'm modelling a 3D print and want some corners be smooth to make it easier to slide prints over each over, but I cannot get some corners rounded.

First I tried the Fillet function, but just gives error "Fillet cannot be created", and no details to tell why.

Next I tried to do it manually by drawing a circle and trimming the sharp corner, but it doesn't work either. I tried using "Trim" and "Break", but neither works. Trim shows the section correctly:

But regardless of how many times I select the section it does not disappear. I then used break, and against, it shows the red cross and I click, but when I select the line it's all there and gets deleted as whole.

So I'm stuck with invincible line segment.

What should I do?

...I'm having problems with getting my sketches done...What should I do?...

probably post a model, and better detail of what you want.

BUT

taking a wild speculative guess-it looks like the line you are working on is a light er blue. is it part of the current sketch, or an earlier sketch on the same plane. If so, it doesn't make sense that it would even be selectable by the trim function. so that would be a bug. but like i said, just guessing wield at this point.

In general it sounds like you might need a little more practice with the sketch solver.

Short answer-the sketch your working on is in an error state, and your working off cached data. if you "manage lost projections" and break the reference link to the point that is causing the error, then it starts working.

But-you model is a mess. you shouldn't have any moves, aligns, or position captures in your timeline. And all time line features that are in error should be fixed as they occur.

When looking at such models from users relatively new to the forum I always ask myself which and how much of the learning materials they might have used before starting a design.

Your design has 14 errors and 2 warnings.

Before starting this completely from scratch I would recommend you go through one of the tutorial courses in the Learn & Support section of the forum and familiarize yourself with the very basics of how to work with Fuaion 360.

1. Stay away from the primitives!

2. Fully define (constrain and dimension) all your sketches

3. Recognize the difference between bodies and components

4. Familiarize yourself with Fusion 360 R.U.L.E.#1

And then come back before your design is severely broken and ask questions.

1. Start over.

2. Create one sketch.

3. Export and Attach the file here for diagnosis of the first sketch before continuing on - you do not want to get a year down the road and discover you have not been using the best techniques.

Edit:

OK, I just stepped through your timeline. This design can be significantly simplified. I would have all, or nearly all, sketches on the XY plane (Revolve Feature). All sketches would be fully defined. I would not use any primitives and not likely to use any Moves.

In my experience the most difficult step will be to abandon the techniques that you have been using - the geometry is relatively simple.

Oh my! That file is a giant mess. I think it would take me a week just to figure out how everything works and what the problems are. I so very STRONGLY suggest going through the tutorials, learning best practices, and then starting over.
