You are working too hard. Use Fusion to do the hard yards,

Go back in the timeline, make the first finished cylinder, then

Solid > Create > Circular pattern, selecting the features you used to make the first finished tube. Set 360 deg and 4 in the pattern.

Might help....

Hi all,

I'm a total newbie in Fusion 360 and I am working with the application for 2 months now. And boy, has Fusion 360 got a steep learning curve. The last 2 days I was trying to remove 3/4 from the surface of a hollow cilinder by extruding this piece. To accomplish this I put a rectangle over 1/4 of the top of the circle that I want to keep. The first time I succeeded and could extrude the intersection of rectangle and circle. All screenshots are made in Sketch Mode topview and screenshot 1 is showing this step of the process in which I succeeded. With the second cilinder I proceeded exactly in the same way as I did in the first one but now I can't execute the extrusion. In screenshot 2 you can see that the interaction between circle en rectangle is working out in a totally other way. Screenshot 3 is an example which is showing the extruded cilinder. I already searched the learning videos and documentation for a few days but I can't find a solution for this problem. I presume this has something to do with Constrains? Whatever I tried to solve this, it did not function. I also noticed that the top left yellow/orange circle of the first tube is slightly lighter as the other 3 circles?

Thanks,

Jeu

Screenshot 1 shows your blue circle profile overlapping the walls of the cylinder. Screenshot 2 shows your blue circle profile only on the interior hollow part of the cylinder, not overlapping the walls of it.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the rectangle not intersecting the circle sketch in the three that don't work.

Instead of using a rectangle, why not use some little construction lines to delineate the quarter circle in the sketch.

See examples.

Thanks for your help, this could work I'm going to try this later to learn from it. But I just found out that I didn't constrain all parts of my sketch. I made a new sketch, followed the constraining rules and succeeded in making the extrusions I needed.

I did it the way you described and that is the simplest way to do this. Simple and affective.

Thank you for your files, I attached the f3d file of the new design I just made. The extrusion was successful this time because I constrained all parts of the sketch. It should become a (cooling)stand for my Mac mini
