Hello F360'ers. I was wondering how folks organize their components/bodies tree? I know Rule One and I understand the difference between bodies and components and the like. I also am well aware of top-down vs bottom-up design. My current model has quite a few linked components and the tree starts to get a bit unruly. Is there a good workstream to use subassemblies? I would share my file but unfortunately it is proprietary. Imagine a plate with a few hundred McMaster/Automation Direct parts in it. Cheers!

I prefer to store one kind of components in a separated folder. It helps.

I assume you are referring to a separate sub-assembly (component group in Fusion 360 lingo). components cannot be stored in folders.

Found this thread and came up with my own solution to try out.

I've found that going back to the beginning of the timeline allows me to make components named for the sub assemblies works well. Then you can proceed to copy the components you would like to group together into them before deleting the previous instance. It's a bit tedious but seems to be working for my purposes.

Hope this helps someone.
